"I have known Dan Masnada for over thirty years, during most of his water industry career.  As a Castaic Lake Water Agency Director, I voted to appoint him as CLWA’s General Manager in 2002.  Accomplishments during his time with CLWA were expansion of both the Agency’s water treatment plants, settlement of a major groundwater contamination lawsuit, initial service of recycled water to the Santa Clarita Valley and implementation of the Agency’s first groundwater banking programs.  These actions (1) enhanced the Agency’s ability to timely meet the water needs of a growing community, (2) ensured the polluters – and not the Agency’s customers – paid for remediating the contaminated groundwater, (3) expanded the Agency’s water supply portfolio, and (4) enabled the Agency to meet water demand in all years including during drought, respectively.  Dan is a registered Civil Engineer.  Before coming to CLWA, he was the Executive Director of the Central Coast Water Authority.  He is extremely qualified to serve as an SCVWA Director and I strongly endorse his candidacy."
